This is the interior of St Stephen's Basilica where I attended an organ concert on the first night. The organ which was used for the performance was electric! My disappointment! Passing the Basilica on Sunday, I was able to hear the magnificent organ blasting its way through a mass.
This is the interior of the synagogue. It too has an organ but played by a non Jewish organist! and separated from the altar by a wooden barrier. This is the second biggest synagogue in the world, the New York one being the biggest. The photo below is its exterior.
On the left, is a sculpture of a tree of metal leaves largely paid for by Tony Curtis, the Hollywood star. It's not however, the tree of life because each leaf has written on it the name of a Jewish person lost to the holocaust.
